What a huge disappointment! I heard the movie wasn't that good. The time line didn't seem right and I didn't get the point of the movie. I thought one way but there was no redeeming of character. hmmm.... Sandra... uh, you can do better than this... 1 out of 4

The Painted Veil

I caught this movie by chance on my cable channel. And I remember 2 year ago seeing the trailer for this movie, and I wanted to see it. Edward Norton is such a great actor. I really liked the story. A love story set in the 1920s about a young English couple--a conservative doctor and a restless society girl--who marry hastily, relocate to Hong Kong. There they betray each other easily, and find an unexpected chance at redemption and happiness while on a deadly journey into the heart of ancient China. (Per 3 out of 4

I had a rare opportunity to go to the theaters and I got to watch JUNO. one word... AWESOME!! EXCELLENT!! HILAROUS!! SWEET!! HEARTWARMING!! Ellen Page is awesome. The supporting cast was awesome. I LOVED THIS FILM!! Definitely getting a copy for my collection. 4 out of 4

I love suspense thrillers. This was really good. Shia Lebouf is growing up. He got a bit of a dark edge in this movie and not his usual... dorky guy. I yelped a few times and it was fun. 3 out of 4

Blades of Glory

hahahahaha!! Really funny. I usually don't like Will Ferrell movies... Old School...anchorman, talledega nights... not my cup of tea. The only movies before this one that I liked with him was Stranger than fiction and Elf. So, it gave me a few laughs and it was fun. 3 out of 4

I Think I Love My Wife

A funny film by Chris Rock starring Chris Rock. It wasn't a fun film for my hubby. I kept interrogating him thought out the film. "would YOU do that?" "you better not do that!" "what would you do if she did that?" It was a stressful film to watch, I'm sure, for him. hahahahaha... The message is good but my only gripe is .... at the end ... why did chris rock and gina torres break in to song? that was stupid. 2 1/2 out of 4

Ghost Rider

A little bit entertaining with no substance. 1 out of 4

This foreign film was good. It can seem a bit soap opera-ish and maybe seem more of a tv special than a film but I liked it. 3 out of 4

This was a very silly film. I had a few laughs, though. 2 1/2 out of 4

Curse of the Golden Flower

Beautiful!! Movie was so beautifully done. Zhang Yimou always produces colorful and beautifully done movies with the martial arts so artistically and elegantly done. The storyline was a bit odd but it was entertaining to watch. Gong Li is so beautiful and such a great actress. It's ashame that she couldn't find a vehicle to showcase her talent in american films. Maybe she still can...

And I hate to say this because I've been such a fan of his... Chow Yun-Fat should stick with strictly action films that don't require dramatic acting. He can't act or he just fell flat with better actors around him. 3 out of 4

The astronaut Farmer

I think the movie is a nice family movie but... I fell asleep watching it.

Black Snake Moan

A very interesting film. I had no idea that Justin Timberlake was in this movie. I wanted to buy into his dramatic attempt in acting... it's getting there. Christina Ricci as always is great. Subject matter is a little out there and the movie must be watched with an open mind to appreciate what it's trying to do. I liked it. 2 3/4 out of 4

The Musa Warrior

It is 1375 and China is in a state of chaos. The Ming dynasty has seized power from the Yuan, pushing them north to the Great Wall after their hundred-year rule. The Koryo dynasty, one of Korea's ancient kingdoms, sends a delegation of diplomats and soldiers to make peace with the new Chinese government. But the delegation is accused of spying and sent in exile to a remote desert, where they are ambushed by Yuan troops. A handful of Koryo warriors, led by General Choi Jung, and a bodyguard-slave named Yeo-sol survive. After overcoming the treacherous obstacles of the desert, the men arrive at a peddler's inn and discover that a group of Yuan cavalry has kidnaped the Ming princess Furong. When Yeo-sol is also taken captive by the Yuan soldiers, Choi Jung, convinced the princess could help them return to Koryo, leads a rescue attempt to free Yeo-sol and the beautiful Furong. (

Another movie I saw while browsing through Netflix. I was surprised to see Zhang Ziyi listed as a cast. I know that she was very popular in Korea. It was all good until the ending. I didn't like the way it ended. It just made me hate ZiYi's character. 2 1/2 out of 4

The Way Home

From the beginning of the summer, I've watched a string of Korean films and was so disappointed in the movies. There was no substance and if they did, it was of issues that were not common. I was browsing Netflix and I found this had good reviews. I LOVED IT!! It really tugs at your heart strings. The unconditional love of a grandmother can change a heart of a selfish and spoiled child. 4 out of 4

An independent film that came out in 2006.
Heath Ledger stars as Dan, a charming but reckless young poet who has fallen in love with Candy (Cornish), a beautiful young art student from a comfortable middle-class family who is attracted to the bohemian lifestyle that Dan has long since embraced. In order to get closer to Dan, Candy, whose previous drug use has been casually experimental, starts shooting up. Their passionate relationship then alternates between bursts of ecstatic oblivion and bouts of despair and self-destruction. Hooked as much on heroin as one another, their story becomes a love triangle -- a boy, a girl, and a drug. (synopsis per

I saw a trailer of this movie on a dvd and it looked interesting. The acting was very good. Abbie Cornish was very good. I've been hearing a lot about her and she is talented. I liked the film.

I liked this film. There is something charismatic about Mark Wahlberg. Even though his actual acting in movies is very inconsistent, he's entertaining to watch. I liked this movie. It was quite entertaining. 2 1/2 out of 4

One of those underdog sports team overcoming obstacles (racism and prejudice) and ending up with a victory. I thought it would be a lot more comical but it was a feel good movie over all.

Alpha Dog

This movie was written and directed by Nick Cassavettes, the same man who directed 'The Notebook'. Alpha Dog is quite opposite from the Notebook. It was a very serious film that was based on a true story. I really liked the film. I was even surprised at the big role that Justin Timberlake had. He was surprisingly good. I respect that he picks these serious role. I guess, he wants to establish that he can act. The movie was well casted and it was directed very well. 3 out of 4

Bridge to Terabithia

I never read the book Bridge to Terabithia but I thought that my children would enjoy this movie. They were too young. They never got into it. I enjoyed it, though It reminded me of the movie 'my girl'. Not in plot , but the feeling you get after you watched it. 2 1/2 out 4

The Promise

I enjoy Chinese films and when I was browsing Netflix, I came upon this film. I was surprised to see a famous Korean actor, Chang Dong-Kun, listed as one of the stars of the film. The movie was full of color with cool and elegant martial arts action. I seen this movie over a 3 months ago so, I don't quite remember it too much. That must mean it wasn't memorable, I guess. 2 out of 4

I was looking forward to watching this film. Mel Gibson directed it and I love Braveheart which he also directed. It was a very disappointing film. The acting was good but I just didn't quite understand the point. I think people can either love this film or hate it. I didn't like it at all.1 1/2 out of 4
